SCULPTURE For the Home and Garden Hawk Ridge Farm Pownal, Maine May 18 - June 30, 2013 Opening Reception Saturday evening, May 18 from 5:00-7:00 Interior work in wood will be featured inside country home as a prelude to LIVING WOOD, an outdoor exhibition at CMBG. A selection of sculpture from artist's studios throughout New England will be sited in the meadows and gardens of Hawk Ridge Farm. Open by appointment with Sunday afternoon events. LIVING WOOD Sculpture for the Garden Wood sculpture will be shown on the Great Lawn, Butterfly Gardens and trails of Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens. A site map, price list and guide will be available in the Visitors Center. The opening event is free and open to all, then check summer admission at www.mainegardens.org |

GLIMPSE A herd of six deer, a porcupine and wolf are now sited along the entry road to the Portland International Jetport. Arts patron William Hamill has donated the sculpture by Wendy Klemperer to the City of Portland. They were purchased from the Maine Audubon exhibition Re-Imagined and were approved by the Portland Public Arts Committee and accepted by the Portland City Council. These expressive wildlife sketches in steel will now welcome people to the state of Maine. View the installation including a HERD OF DEER, a PORCUPINE and WOLF sited along the entryway road off Congress Street at the Portland International Jetport, now a part of the City of Portland's public arts collection. INSPIRED Featuring artists Lise Becu and Ray Carbone Lise Becu brings a fluid, dreamlike quality to her work focusing on wildlife and women. She allows images to emerge while letting parts of the natural stone relief remain. Inspired by his rich natural environment, Ray Carbone is an accomplished wildlife artist working in wood, granite and bronze. AUTUMN at Hawk Ridge Farm
September 20th -- November 1st, 2009 Hawk Ridge Farm Open by appointment every day Following a retrospective of Gary Haven Smith’s work at the Currier Museum in New Hampshire, this is a major exhibition and sale of sculpture by this celebrated artist. Both interior and exterior pieces will be sited in the country home and gardens of Hawk Ridge Farm. Materials include granite, basalt, slate, lead, gold and silver leaf and sizes range from carved glacier boulders to constructed and painted wall hangings.
